About the Home |
The Evangelical Free Church Home was established in 1912 as a non-profit Christian Home. The Board of Directors consists of nine members elected from the Evangelical Free Church’s Central District Conference plus the Administrator. We are licensed by the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals and comply with all regulations. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and private-pay residents.
Most resident rooms are semi-private with a few private rooms available. We are certified for 120 residents. Each room is completely furnished. Lounge areas are provided throughout the building for reading and relaxation. The Home maintains a full staff of employees for the care of the residents and operation of the Home. There are licensed personnel on duty 24 hours day. The support staff consists of Certified Nurse’s Aides, Maintenance, Laundry and Housekeeping, along with Dietary, Social Services, Activities and Administration.
Our large activity room and chapel area is used for many activities and programs. A complete schedule of activities such as exercises, crafts, educational programs, games, music, and parties are presented by the Activity Department. Chapel services are conducted each week under the direction of our Chaplain and as announced by local pastors, missionaries, and laymen. Communion is held each month and on other special occasions. Sunday Worship is held on Sunday mornings. Local churches are heard Sunday morning on radio station KWBG (1590 AM). Residents attend all religious services and activities on a voluntary basis.
Delicious meals are prepared at the Home and served in the spacious and attractive dining room. Meals are also served in the first and second floor dining areas. A registered dietician is employed in the Dietary Department.
A juice and snack cart makes the rounds to all residents in early afternoon and evening. Reservations for meals can be made for relatives and friends at a nominal cost. Coffee and treats are served in the dining room every afternoon.
The Evangelical Free Church Home is a non-profit organization and appreciates the bequests, memorials, and gifts that help defray the costs of operation and maintenance of our property. All gifts are tax deductible. |
